<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We are very pleased to see this development! In New Mexico, there is no way that the 1700 trapping license buyers, most of whom are instate residents paying a mere $20, are adequate to fund the administration of trapping here either. Hunter dollars subsidize trapping in this state. Or alternatively, trapping is inadequately managed for lack of funding.</p>

<p>Judge Lourdes A. Martinez issued a ruling in favor of local wildlife advocates, The Humane Society of the United States and Animal Protection of New Mexico, which filed the lawsuit in federal court in New Mexico against New Mexico State Game Commissioners and the director of the state Department of Game and Fish.</p>
